Family memories deserve more than a vague promise that an app is “private”. You should be able to understand who can see them, why technology processes them, how the service makes money and what happens if you leave. Here is the practical version for keeps; the formal detail remains in our Privacy Policy and Terms.
Your family space is invitation-only
Keeps are visible to the adults who belong to your family space. You choose whom to invite and can remove a family member in Settings. Children do not create accounts or use the service directly.
A family member can deliberately create an unlisted link for a selected set of memories. Anyone with that link can view the set until it is made private again, so only share links with people you trust.
No advertising, data sales or facial recognition
keeps is funded by family subscriptions. We do not place advertising inside your archive, sell your family’s data or use facial recognition. Your children’s information is not used for advertising or profiling.
This business model is a deliberate privacy choice: the service works for the family paying for it, rather than trying to maximise attention or turn personal memories into an advertising audience.

What AI does—and does not do
keeps uses AI to classify and tag memories so search and related collections work. Voice transcription converts recordings into useful text. These processes exist to operate features inside your family archive, not to advertise to you or build a profile of your child.
We use specialist service providers where needed to run the product. Our Privacy Policy names the providers, the purpose of the processing and the regions involved.
You can export or delete
Your memories remain yours to export. If a subscription ends, the family can still view and export what has already been saved, although adding new keeps is paused.
The family owner can delete the account and family archive from Settings. That permanently removes the family data and media. An invited member can leave or delete their own account without deleting the archive belonging to the rest of the family.
